WELCOME TO MY SITE
DEDICATED TO
BEAUTY AND
SKIN CARE
Please let me introduce myself
DISCLAIMER. I
am no longer the proprietor of the physical business called Alpine
Beauty Clinic in Myrtleford, Victoria. I started that business,
then sold it and then managed the business for the new owner for some
20 months whilst training a young person to a Pt. 111 in Beauty therapy. I
have now started a new Natural & Beauty therapies business called
Tranquil Oasis on Glenrowan, Victoria. I can be contacted on 03
5766 2372 and the physical address of the new business is 30 Gladstone
Street, Glenrowan, Victoria 3675. Please feel free to contact me if I can be of any assistance. Christina.
My
name is Christina Nash and I have been a professional Beauty and Skin
consultant for 23 years. I also help people with the challenges that life offers.
During
these years I have seen a lot of people, I have
dealt with a number of different products, some more
effective
than others - but all people are different even those we try to group
them in categories just to make some general recommendations. It pays to
remember you are a unique individual and what applies to someone else
may NOT be perfectly right for you.
On
this site you will find articles which hopefully will be helpful and
will be a start for what you are trying to find out. You will
find other sources of information on the "net" but always remember - YOU ARE A
UNIQUE HUMAN BEING.
How
do you check things out? Well you can always ask someone who
has
some professional training, your medical advisory may be willing to
give an opinion - but at the end of the day if it doesn't feel right,
then tread carefully.
Products come in a wide variety of choices - and prices to match!
It is a well contested market and everyone has their own
opinion
on what is best. Basically products are either "Active" or
"Non Active".
Active
products will have perhaps a tingling effect on your skin - especially
at first because they contain normally some form of Alpha Hydroxide
Acids (AHA's). These products are designed to slough off the
outer layer of your skin revealing a smoother complexion underneath.
Some
products are based around Vitamin A
- which basically works from the inner layers of your skin outwards.
Your skin normally has to become accomstomized to Vitamin A,
so
you will need to start with gentle doses and not dive into concentrated
forms from the beginning.
Vitamin C
is another well documented product which is very good.
Questions
alway exist as to how stable the Vitamin C is, so check out the
manufacturers claims, keep it in a dark cool place and don't expect it
to be effective if you open it and leave it for a few years before
using it.
Before letting you go to read
other articles there is one important vitamin I want to bring to your
attention - and that is Vitamin
D.
We all need a certain amount of vitamin D for our bodies to
perform well. You get vitamin D from the sun, but in recent
years
we have all been advised to cover our bodies in Sunscreen, often SPF30
- to block out the sun's rays. There is a balance you have to
reach between not letting the sun burn your skin yet to let sufficient
sun to fall onto your skin to generate vitamin D.
If
you have any questions relating to beauty and skin care you may contact
me via the details on the "Contact Me" page. Please make
your
questions short and specific to a single topic.
I will try to get back to you as quickly as possible.
Here's to a fabulous skin, a healthy body and a zest to live life to the full.
Christina
May
I share this poem with you that I wrote in June 2003
LOVE
Love is the lovliness all around,
The birds singing sweetly - oh what a pretty sound:
Yourself happy and well,
All the loving things you do to show and tell:
Love is the puppy in your life,
The one you have adventures with and land in lots of strife:
Love is your furry cat you cuddle when sad,
Love can make all things right - even if you have been bad:
Love is a clucky chicken that lays you a fresh golden egg,
Containing good nutritritonal value important for healthy bodies:
Love is the cow with her calf in the meadow,
Grazing on grass to produce milk to help us grow:
Love is the flowers in springtime - their perfumes , color and blooms,
Strong majestic trees, foliage of splendor - all this made by God our
creator:
Love is the beach on a bright summers day,
With the warmth of the sun, the breeze and the soft gentle sea spray:
Love is the feeling of sand between our toes,
The waves splashing on us - in and out they go:
Love is the swim that we enjoy so well,
Can you remeber how good you feel?
Love is the vegetables that grow in the ground,
All colours of the rainbow - without a sound:
The fruits we enjoy that makes us healthy and strong - banana and
orange,
pineapple and grapes,
All different colors and funny shapes:
Love is the sky, high, high above,
Blue is the color - the color for love:
Night time is dark, quite and still - the stars twinkle brightly,
The moon boldly lit and smiling contently to guard us at night:
All is well, all is right,
As we sleep in our cosy beds, fast, fast asleep:
Love is your mummy, love is your dad,
Love is your brother and the sister you may wish you never had:
But then it's time to give warm fuzzies and show,
Your love by a great big hug:
And all is forgiven,
because ....all there is in this world is LOVE.

Eagles In The Storm
Did
you know that an eagle knows when a storm is approaching long before it
breaks?
The
eagle will fly to some high spot and wait for the winds to come.
When
the storm hits, it sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up and
lift it above the storm.
While
the storm rages below, the eagle is soaring above it.
The
eagle does not escape the storm.
It
simply uses the storm to lift it higher. It rises on the winds that
bring the storm.
When
the storms of life come upon us - and all of us will experience them -
we can rise above them by setting our minds and our belief toward God
(or your own personal god - or whatever your personal beliefs are). The
storms do not have to overcome us.
We
all have burdens.
But
it is not these burdens of life that weigh us down, it is how we handle
them.
