Beauty and Skin Care For You.

There is no secret to luscious locks.  No matter what your problem may be,
you will always find something,
be it natural or otherwise
that will suit and help
your hair type.

NO BAD HAIR DAYS

In today’s market there are many lotions and potions that will add lustre, shine, and healthiness to any hair type.

Maybe it’s the frizzies or dull, lifeless hair.

Perhaps you are plagued by dandruff.

A hair problem can leave you feeling flat, even when the rest of you is looking terrific.

Washing hair regularly is important and twice if after a few days to ensure all the dirt, excess oil and dead cells are removed.

Towel dry, dampening the hair with the towel, so as not to tangle.

Brushing the hair vigorously before shampooing loosens all the dead cells and encourages shine and healthier hair and scalp.

Washing your hair every day is not so good as it removes too much of the natural oil.

HOME MADE Hair treatments

1. Half a cup of olive oil or baby oil warmed in the microwave for a minute.

2. Mash an avocado and add a splash of coconut milk.

3. Blend two eggs and four tablespoons of olive oil.

Just like a face mask, you can treat your hair with an intensive nourishing treatment.

Leave on for 15 to 20 minutes and keep your hair wrapped up with a plastic bag or warm towel while it does its magic.

BEAUTIFUL HAIR AND A NEW ROAD IN LIFE

There is almost nothing else that we can change so quickly and easily about ourselves other than our hair; we choose its length, style and colour.

Hair is a symbol of beauty and reflects much about our personality and out-look on life.

When a relationship breaks down, for example, it is often our hair which we change as a clear sign of turning over a new leaf.

While our skin is reflective of what we are by mirroring our inner state, our hair reveals what we want to become; flamboyant or reserved, dazzling or natural, predictable or rebellious.

Some of the facts on hair are: -

A human being has approximately five million hairs, a little more than 100,000 of which are found on the head.

With the exception of the palms of the hands, the soles of the feet and the lips, small fine hairs grow all over our bodies.  Parts of the head, the genitals and the armpits are covered in thicker hair.

Symbol of passion:

We identify ourselves with our hair; it has, after all, always been a symbol of eroticism and female passion, of sensuality and the art of seduction.

According to Germanic mythology, the Lorelei firstly brought sailors on the Rhine under her spell with her hair, and then led them to a watery grave.

Rapunzel, on the other hand, threw down her hair so that she could hold her beloved in her arms.

Then again, what is the secret that makes redheads so desirable and why were they, more than any other, burnt at the stake as witches?

Hair plays a starring role despite the fact that it is made of dead material.

By having neglected or greasy hair, dazzling flowing hair, a cut with a difference or with colouring or glossy effects, we make up our minds as to whether we are in the limelight and make a good or bad impression, are attractive or off – putting.

Therefore, we should devote particular care and attention to our hair.

COMPOSITION OF THE HAIR:

Like toenails and fingernails, hair is made from the protein keratin.

It originates in the hair follicles which are elongated incisures in the skin.

The ends of the follicles are called hair papillae and are the growth centre; new hair matter is formed here and pushed continually outwards.

Blood vessels are found at the papillae, providing the hair with nutrients, and pigment cells which give it its characteristic colour.

Sebaceous glands, the openings of which lead into the follicles, lubricate the hair and thus keep it supple.

SILICIC ACID NOURISHES YOUR HAIR.

A Two Month Course of Treatment would include taking silicic acid gel daily (dosage according to manufacturer’s instructions), to promotes hair growth and improve the hair’s shine and strength.

Remember frequent and hot blow-drying is bad for the hair, as well as constant colouring, highlighting and perming, poor diet, curling tongs too frequently used, combing wet hair, chlorine from swimming pools sun and salt sea water.

HAIR TIPS

Colour and care for your hair naturally.

A Fortifying Treatment:

Mix two to four tablespoons of olive oil, depending on hair length, with the juice from half to one lemon.

Spread the mixture onto dry hair and allow it to take effect for approximately 30 to 60 minutes.

Wash your hair afterwards as normal with a shampoo.

Conditioning with lemon juice makes the hair shiny and, at the same time, smoothes out the hair structure.

For More Shine:

Condition your hair after washing with diluted fruit vinegar.  This gives the hair a fabulous shine.

With greasy hair you obtain this effect by conditioning with peppermint tea.

 For Just A Shimmer :

You do not need to immediately resort to highlighting to give your hair a hint of colour.

Conditioning with camomile tea gives blond hair a golden tint and black tea gives dark hair a reddish shimmer.
