More and
more
cosmetic surgeons, dermatologists, skin treatment and beauty centers
and spas
are recommending mineral makeup not
only for its skincare efficacy but also
for post-invasive
and non-invasive aesthetic procedures. For many
acne, rosacea
and pigmentation sufferers,
mineral makeup offers an instant solution to
cover
and conceal unsightly blemishes
and uneven skin tone..
BOLD BEAUTIFUL MAKE-UP
Mineral
Makeup dramatically improve the look of any complexion
giving the illusion of clear, healthy blemish free skin which can be
applied in
minutes. The end result is long term optimum skin health. Mineral
makeup
resulted from a demand for a makeup range that was non-comedogenic and
complemented
at-home treatment regimens, while also being suitable post IPL, skin
peel,
microdermabrasion and for those with acne and rosacea. It was also
crucial that
the makeup prescribed did not worsen the problem or create new problems
such as
acne cosmetica.
Mineral makeup allows
the skin to breathe and function
normally.
People suffering from rosacea
their inflammation can be covered
effectively in minutes and the redness will not bleed through, as with
acne.
The formulations of the mineral
cosmetics actually work hand-in-hand with
professional skincare products as they contain green tea; a powerful
anti-oxidant to fight free radicals, jojoba esters to nourish and
protect the
skin
Cosmetic
surgeons and dermatologists throughout the world
are the most enthusiastic advocates and this is due to its ability to
easily
cover the post-treatment redness and sensitivity commonly associated
with
invasive treatments performed in surgery and clinics such as laser
resurfacing,
IPL photo-rejuvenation, chemical peels and so on.
MAKEUP TIPS:
FOUNDATION
If
you are under
45, use an oil-free foundation in winter to create a flawless matte
base.
For
women over 45,
or those with very dry skin, this may emphasise wrinkles, so choose a
foundation that contains oil but has a matte finish.
Your foundation is your
canvas, so check the
colour in natural light, remembering to match with your neckline.
There should never be a
beginning and an
end.The whole
appearance must just flow,
looking natural and as if no make-up is actually being worn.
Winter time you may need to
go two shades
lighter than your summer colour.
Wear a touch of matte powder over the top to
prevent shininess.
Mascara only lasts three
months before you
need to consider replacing it, so find a new one which separates and
extends
your lashes, ideally in black or grey.
Brows are big, so don’t thin them by over plucking
or waxing too
much.A brow pencil
or powder can help
thicken the shape in the case of those unfortunate to have lost them.
Medication,
hormones or over plucking can be
responsible for the loss of brows and also sometimes the loss of
eyelashes.
An ideal colour for your
lips will pull off
your whole complexion.Find
a colour
that compliments you in shades that enhance.
A lip gloss over a dark
colour can make it a
little more subtle if you wish, ensure everything you use on your lips
is
moisturising so they don’t dry out.
Plum shades on
your lips can make your teeth look
super white.
Your blusher needs to be a
similar plum tone,
but two to three shades lighter than your lips.
Your nails will look good
matching your lips
in dark, berry colours or pastel shades.
Nude lips can make you look
a little insipid
especially in Winter so go bold and don’t be afraid to step outside of
your
comfort zone remembering to choose a colour complimentary to your skin
and hair
tones.
Sometimes you may need to
address your skin
care regime.While
we are young and
sailing through life doing the same old same old are bodies and in turn
our
skins are changing very subtly.
You may need to consider
when you look in the
mirror of an evening before going to bed and removing your make-up how
the
appearance of your skin is actually looking.
Under a bright light and
maybe with the help
of a magnifying light check for appearance of oil on your forehead,
nose and
chin.
Does your make-up look
patchy on your outer
cheeks or chin (sometimes you can actually see it separating into
little blobs
by the end of the day)?
Do you have a build-up of
blackheads? Are you
concerned about fine lines around your eyes and mouth?
If you answered yes to any of these
questions, then you need to consider changing your skincare regimen in
different seasons.
blushER
Keep blusher in the same colour
family as the lipstick
Apply it
only on the apples of the cheeks and blend
slightly outward.
Because our lipsticks are so
creamy and nourishing, you can
also blend some on ones cheeks for a look that really harmonizes with
the lips.
Also, if you are suffering
breakouts in the cheek area, it is likely due to the
fact that most blushes contain FD&C red dyes which are
comodogenic.
eyes
It's always a good idea to
brush a base powder on
the eyelid to even out the colour and for sun protection.
Apply
a base colour and concentrate a darker shade
on the outer corner of the eye and sweep across the lid.
Use
a Defining Brush and a darker shadow to draw a
smokey line as close to the top and bottom lashes as possible.
Don't try to
match the eye colour, since this will only cancel out the eye.
A
complementing (or contrasting) colour is what makes the eye
pop.
If you want to
use an accent shade, find a colour or two or three shades deeper than
the base
and with a Eye Contour Brush apply it to the outer corner of the eye
and sweep
across the lid.
Be sure
to concentrate most of the colour on the
outside corner, because that's what lifts the eye.
lips
Sheers are in. But, be careful
to balance the look.
If the
eye
makeup is strong, make the mouth more natural and vice versa.
There
should be no obvious lip line.
Line your lips with a
complementary lip
pencil after you've applied the color.
